STEP 1 – Start by measuring your tree and finding out where the stirrup blocks need to go. Do this by flipping the tree over and using a sharpie to mark along the front ridge, located where the stirrup slot begins, as it follows up into the upright side of the tree.

STEP 2 –Next, measure 3 ¼ inches back from the mark you made with a sharpie, for a 3-inch stirrup. These will be the marks to set the blocks that will help blend the stirrup leather into the seat, and then the slot into the swell.
