Taita falcon

The taita falcon occurs in several African countries. Locally, it's a critically endangered species: Scientists know of only about 50 sites in Mpumalanga and Limpopo where this falcon breeds – usually against a high cliff in riverine forest.

The falcon is named after the Taita Hills in Kenya, where researchers first recorded it.
