Grapes fermented by themselves are one thing, and apples or pears fermented alone are another, but fermenting two disparate fruits together results in a different thing entirely. The various fruits that bubble away in barrels together are only part of the story. In Northern California regions, beset by drought and wildfires, a community of like-minded co-mingled cofermenters may hold the answer to even more important questions.
