HOLLEY 390CFM CARB

This month I decided to try something completely different. I put a four-barrel Holley carb on our dyno-mule Pinto. Rare this side of the Atlantic, the four-barrel is the go-to upgrade for most performance tuning in America where this kit originates from. In this case the carb is a 390cfm fitted with vacuum-operated secondaries. Small by American standards the 390 is typically used onV8 Rover engines so making it theoretically plenty big enough for our Pinto.

The Offenhauser manifold I’ve used to mount the Holley, on the other hand, is rather unusual. It’s a dual-port design. Most four-barrel manifolds
