Invincible Maher lands a historic treble

“I COULDN’T be prouder right now,” said Ben Maher after becoming the first rider in Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) history to claim three championship titles.

The Olympic champion came into the final leg of the 2022 season, held in the Saudi capital for the first time, at the top of the leaderboard. But his lead was narrow, with two in-form riders, Pieter Devos of Belgium and Christian Ahlmann of Germany, snapping at his heels and the algorithms of points and margins required from Saturday night’s grand prix on Saturday night to ensure Ben’s victory was mind-blowing.
