Self-build setbacks likely

The government has named 42 more local planning authorities with water quality issues, following advice from Natural England, which is leading to delays for self-builders. In 2018 Natural England identified 32 areas with adverse nutrient pollution — an environmental issue affecting England’s natural places. Nutrients including nitrogen are said to be speeding up the growth of toxic plants, in turn harming wildlife.
