If you’d like to give own screen capture tool a go, log out of Ubuntu. Click your username followed by the cog in the bottom-right corner, then select Ubuntu on Xorg and log in. Launch to reveal a New option with five capture types as shown above. It also has its own global shortcuts: use Alt+Shift instead of just Shift.
