PORTRAIT OF AN ANTIQUE

Badly painted and cheap to collect is how I describe my collection of Hilditchthe freshest colours – oranges, pinks, turquoises, blues and yellows – the pieces have a folk art feel; their roughly painted details revealing a sense of the individual who made them. Seeing the brushstrokes means I feel a closeness to the artist. Here are some of my favourite pieces, against a background of my Chalk Paint in Capri Pink with shelves in Oxford Navy and details in Antibes Green.
