    WIDE-RIMMED BOWL

    This project used the hump mould made on page 24 and is a simple way of making a decorative dish

    YOU WILL NEED:

    ■ A hump mould like the one made on page 24

    ■ A small bowl mould

    ■ Clay of choice – earthenware or stoneware

    ■ Rolling pin, plastic sheet, 5mm thick roller guides

    ■ Paper to make a template

    ■ Protractor, compass, large cookie cutter

    ■ Sgraffito tool

    ■ Glaze of choice to fit clay type

    DIFFICULTY RATING ★★★☆☆

    1 For this project, you will need a hump mould of the type made in project 2 plus a small bowl press mould. However, if you don’t have a small mould, this part of the build can easily be made by pinching or coiling the section.

    2 Measure the diameter of your hump mould to determine the size of the paper template.
