Modern classic?

With the cost of motoring continuing to soar, who says having a classic car is an expensive pastime you can well do without? I fettled this tidy, honest 22-year-old modern classic for little money. Whether or not a Citroën Xsara Forte qualifies as one is up for debate but if nothing else it makes for a cheap and cheerful second car that boasts a touch of individuality that’s lacking in today’s designs.

The car belonged to an elderly neighbour who sadly passed away and the next of kin wanted it removed from their driveway asap without any hassle. So, an offer of £200 was gracefully accepted – even as scrap it was worth more than £350
