LA POSTE, the French post office, has controversially announced that it is axing its next-day delivery service, to be replaced by a virtual e-letter service. With it will go the much loved ‘Red Marianne’ postage stamp that has adorned letters for the last 75 years or so. So far no postal vans have been burned on the streets, but the natives are not happy.
