Medical Apps Relevant to Paediatricians

Dr Jeeson C Unni is Editor-in-chief, IAP Drug Formulary and ASSC Consultant, Dept of Child and Adolescent Medicine, Aster Medcity, Kochi

Over the past 10 years, our smartphones and tablets have transformed the way in which we practice medicine. It has been some time since I reviewed medical applications for mobile devices, and many paediatricians have requested an update. I have therefore put together my recommendations for the best applications for paediatric providers - apps that I have been using for years (applications that are associated with “connected” devices, such as pulse oximeters, blood pressure cuffs, otoscopes and so on, are not detailed in this article).

I would classify the various mobile apps as follows:

Almost everything in one app Medscape IAP Drug formulary Pediatrics On Call Calculators and convertors Ped(z) – Pediatric calculator IAP Indian Pediatrics app Immunisation app IAP Growth Charts app E-vote IAP Differential Diagnosis Isabel Pediatrics On Call Medline search PubMed Other useful apps Diagnostic tool for Autism Spectrum Disorders PedNeuroAiims Diagnostics Bone Age Anthropometric Calculator Pedi Crisis 2.0 Totsguide Track And Act ADR PvPI GCS app Surakshith Bal Suraksha Journals Read by Podcast Republic
