DIVINE INTERVENTION
When reading the ‘My path to publication’ feature with Sunyi Dean (WM Aug) I noticed she mentioned the stars aligning, post-Covid, with her third novel. Seeing her words evoked similar feelings in me.
Having dropped out of university in 2018 convinced I was developing early-onset dementia – and been laughed out of a GP’s appointment, pre-pandemic – before finally being diagnosed with ADHD in 2022, I felt it was a very positive experience to see that other people struggle with the same aspects of writing that I do, for such similar reasons. Neurodiversity is so fascinatingly varied for all involved. The article, although brief, has encouraged me to do two things. Firstly, I have (nervously) signed myself up to go back to university and have discovered that I am able to complete my degree. Secondly, I have began writing again.
