The Malkin 1000L fits in the hand nicely and is not too heavy (164g) to carry in the hip-belt pouch that comes with it. With a decent beam, it's a useful little torch to have in a campsite or in the hands of your braai assistant. There are four brightness options (1000, 500,100 and 80 lumens) and it initially turns on to the brightest setting, which I liked. It's rechargeable via USB, can burn for 20 hours and indicates its power level with a charging indicator light.
