Gabrielle Bonheur ‘Coco’ Chanel was a French fashion designer and businesswoman. Her extraordinary style was daring and free, and really ahead of her time. She has been credited in the post-World War I era for popularising a sporty, casual chic as the feminine standard of style and ruled Parisian Haute Couture for nearly six decades.

HER LIFE

She was born in 1883 in Samur in the French countryside, and into a life of poverty.
