WHEN first announced, the middleweight fight between Janibek Alimkhanuly and Denzel Bentley came as not only a surprise, but had many questioning the decision of Bentley and his team to pursue a fight few others have been willing to pursue.
It was sold as an opportunity too good to turn down; an opportunity for Bentley to fight in Las Vegas against one of the best middleweights in the world. Yet, despite the undeniable lure of those two things, there is an argument to be made that Saturday’s fight (November 12) has come rather early in the development of the ever-improving British champion.
