NEW YEAR HONOURS AWARDS 2023

New colours

There were several paint collections released in 2022, increasing palettes with some beautiful options. These are a few of our favourites...

Wallcoverings

Whether adding colour, texture or subtle pattern, these are the paints, papers and tiles that have caught our eye for creating an enriching backdrop

Also of note…

Marlborough Tiles’ collaboration with Sims Hilditch, resulting in the pretty Emma and Ana tiles; Earthborn Paints’ 20th anniversary of creating eco-friendly paints; House of Hackney’s collaboration with heritage tile brand Craven Dunnill Jackfield which sees its distinct designs brought to life in ceramic form

1 BERT & MAY X KITESGROVE

As its name suggests, the Irregular Collection’s abstract shapes create a quirky character in soft earthy tones. Though a uniform tile, we love the bespoke feel and movement the irregular shapes create.

2 DEVOL

The subtle nuances of cream tones in these handcrafted, large-format subway tiles create a quietly understated, artisan look that is pale and interesting.

3 PAINT & PAPER LIBRARY

Expanding an already extensive colour card with three ‘architectural families’, nine new shades, and eight revivals from the archive, we love the bold, rich colours that work wonderfully in exciting combinations.

4 ARTE

Inspired by textures from woven baskets to coarse linen, the Textura collection offered exquisite detailing for backdrops. The design shown here has a relief that gives the impression of braided leather.

5 OMEXCO

The artistry and innovation of the Joy, Moonstone and Atelier collections astounded us. From woven banana leaves and recyled sari silks to subtly glittering natural mica wallcoverings, the designs add texture, colour and intrigue.

6 FIRED EARTH

Marble never fails to add drama and opulence, and this offering in unexpected tones of green is a striking design. The mosaic option offers yet more unusual looks, mixing formats.

7 FRANCESCA’S PAINTS

Inspired by the untamed landscape of Outer Hebridean Island, Barra, the curation of colours has been equally pigmented for ‘tonal perfection’ to be seamlessly used together
