Reflections ON A CUP

I doubted. Even though I make much of my living talking and writing about women’s rugby, I doubted it would turn out like this. I knew the Black Ferns had improved but I wasn’t convinced they’d truly closed the gap to England and France. I knew the same people who always support women and women’s sport would show up, but I didn’t think the rest of New Zealand would. I’ve been around too long and seen people not turn up time and again.
