The Way to the Heart Is Through the Kitchen

Ours was not exactly a blind date. I was at a fun, noisy college student get-together hosted by our gregarious young pastor and his wife, when I noticed a tall, quiet blond guy in the corner. I didn’t recognize him and continued chatting and laughing with friends.

The following summer at our annual week at church camp, the pastor and I were putting together games for the campers. He told me his wife’s brother, the guy I had noticed at the Christmas party, had also noticed me. Would I consider going out with the young man?
