GEAR OF THE YEAR

AH YES, it’s that time of the year when we can take a glance back over our shoulders and pick out our favorite pieces of tech from the last 12 months. Well, our favorite pieces of tech that we managed to get our hands on, at least. This year has been nothing short of thrilling—packed with great new tech and a return to glory for the tech industry after a couple of pandemic-affected years.

Thankfully, it’s now far easier to acquire a GPU than this time last year. You were probably more likely to strike oil than get your hands on an Nvidia 30 series card at the end of 2021.

However, times have changed and we are now at the start of another new generation of hardware. We welcome with open arms Intel’s 13th-gen Raptor Lake, AMD’s Ryzen 7000 Series Zen 4 processors, and Nvidia 40 series GPUs, with AMD’s GPU offerings looming.
