Our kids were 21 and 19, but they were worried about where they'd spend the big day, not wanting to leave either parent alone.
Me and their dad didn't want them stressed out.
But the idea of spending Christmas Day alone wasn't much fun either.
‘Why not sign up to volunteer with Crisis? It might take your mind off things,’ she suggested.
Crisis is a charity for people experiencing homelessness, and Christmas was their busiest time.
