Once I had completed all of the major panels (see issue 267) and had my motorhome in what was, in effect, a big flat pack kit, I started to put it together. The first step was joining all the floor panels.
To join two panels, I simply butted them together and laminated over the join with a strip of 300 CSM, and then a similar width strip of 450 weight biaxial cloth. This was done on both sides of the joint.
Once the floor was complete, I placed it upside down on the table, supported on three temporary plywood bulkheads that I had cut from pieces recycled from the original body. These served to ensure that when I attached the sides to the floor, they would be at 90°, and the correct height.
To secure the panels temporarily in place, I drove a wood screw through the panel into the plywood bulkhead. When removed later, the screw hole could be filled with putty
