SECOND AROUND

I had got into the area a few days earlier to get some baits up, and we were basing ourselves on the Ponty Houseboat, to check out the fishing. I was hunting Chete a lot at that time, so my bait sites were all set up and ready. Just needed to add impalas - not difficult. Anyway, as luck would have it, the day Jack arrived we’d had a huge leopard feed on one bait right close to the lakeshore. We added another impala and went to sleep that first night filled with confidence for what the next day would bring.

We saw that the cat had returned and demolished about half of the second impala, so I added a third one and settled down in the blind to wait.
