Altitude adjustment

rapahoe Basin, known to locals as A-Basin, has yet another superlative to brag about. Touted as “The Legend” for at Snow Plume, which had been shuttered since the start of the pandemic but reopened late December 2022, sits at an elevation of 12,456 feet. And up there where oxygen gets thin, the resort is layering on the luxury (and doing so without running water, very resourceful). Serving up epic 360-degree alpine views alongside table service for wine, charcuterie, soup, flatbreads, and coffee drinks, the restaurant is the epitome of high-end dining. The eatery is located on the summit, so it is only accessible from the Lenawee Express, Zuma Lift, and Beavers Lift. After your meal, you will be well-fueled for your ski descent, but true to A-Basin’s steeper-than-average terrain, the only runs down are blue and black so be sure to keep count of your wine refills— and avoid becoming blue and black yourself.
