When Emily Carr bought her grandparents’ bungalow in Hartlepool with her husband, Richie, she knew that, with a just a bit of creativity and imagination, it would make a lovely family home. ‘When my gran moved into a care home and later passed away, my mum inherited the house, and we bought it from her’, Emily explains.
Emily and Richie both owned their own houses when they first met. They moved into Emily's Victorian terrace in 2010 but, when their twins got older, the family moved to Richie's three-bedroom, detached new build in Clavering, Hartlepool.
