1 LINES AND WRINKLES

One of the first changes we notice in our skin as we age is the appearance of lines and wrinkles. ‘The main culprit is exposure to the sun, which causes a process called oxidative stress in the skin,’ explains Dr Mieran Sethi, consultant dermatologist for Dermatica. ‘Wrinkles can also form naturally as we age, due to a loss of collagen and elasticity.’ The more you move your face, through smiling or frowning, the more those expression lines deepen, due to the repetitive nature of the muscles contracting. While there’s nothing wrong with wrinkles and getting older is a privilege, if you do want to soften them, there are various ways to do it.
