RED BULL HOLDS OFF THE REJUVENATED ALONSO

After last year’s double retirement, this was the perfect start to the new season for Red Bull. Max Verstappen’s first-ever win in Sakhir was a dominant performance, accompanied by teammate Sergio Perez in second.

The two cars were clearly the class of the field. But the most remarkable story of the 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix was the pace of Fernando Alonso in his Aston Martin. The Spaniard’s podium finish, the 99th of his career, was his first here since he won for Ferrari back in 2010.
