John Holland of Manchester has been one of the finest declarers in the country for half a century.
West led a Diamond to East’s Ace, and a Diamond was returned to his King. At trick three, West switched to the six of Hearts. Declarer needed to win this trick in dummy in order to take the Trump finesse, so necessarily rose with dummy’s Ace, felling his King.
