PROFILE Regina Baltica BELLEZA BÁLTICA

Despite being over 40 years old, Baleària’s ferry Regina Baltica is in excellent condition, sailing year-round with the Spanish operator on its Morocco and Algeria routes. Although good maintenance has contributed to the longevity of the 1980-built ship, the vessel’s high-capacity drive-through car decks, and cruise ferry design, together with her good manoeuvrability, make her well suited for long overnight crossings to North Africa.

Baleària has enjoyed a meteoric rise, growing since its inception in 1998 to be the market leader in Spain and in 2023 celebrating its 25th Anniversary. The company has 29 vessels operating on 24 routes linking six countries. It employs 1,680 people and 2.9 million passengers, and 765,000 vehicles are carried annually.

Baleària’s modern fleet includes nine LNG-powered vessels and its first all-electric ferry, is soon to be delivered for the Ibiza-Formentera route. Despite leading in green ferry technology, Baleària is not shy of operating older classic ferries, maintained to high standards. As well as , the 39-year-old former channel ferry has been in service for many years.
