Low-carb LOW-DOWN

Low-carb diets are well known for helping people lose weight. When done right, a well-planned and balanced low-carb diet is a healthy way to eat and can have many outstanding health benefits. Low-carb diets limit the amount of carbohydrate foods eaten and have a higher proportion of high-quality proteins and healthy fats.

Following a low-carb diet doesn’t mean you have to remove all carbs from your diet completely. You should be aiming to have at least 20 per cent of your calories from nutritious unprocessed carbohydrate sources such as vegetables, fruits, legumes, and a small amount of low-GI wholegrains like oats, wild rice, buckwheat and quinoa (seed).
