Dating from the Ptolemaic period, possibly from the reign of Ptolemy V (ca. 205–180 BC),a pharaoh of the Third Dynasty. According to the inscription, Khnum, a god of the cataracts, was responsible for the end of the famine, and so, in gratitude, Djoser granted the temple of Khnum at Elephantine a share of the produce of that region, as well as a share of all the imports from the south.
