Succession season 4, episode 9: fans react to the penultimate week of drama

Succession spoilers season 1-4 below

The penultimate episode of Succession, titled Church and State, was everything we had been hoping for. Emotions were running high as Logan’s friends, foes and family gathered in an exquisite Catholic cathedral in Manhattan to say goodbye to the Waystar boss.

Roman, Kendall, Shiv and – unexpectedly – Ewan gave eulogies; Shiv finally told her family she was pregnant; and the GoJo deal was very much the undercurrent of the event with Jeryd Mencken and Lukas Matsson both in attendance. Meanwhile, the fact that they were at their father’s funeral did not stop Kendall nor Shiv from scheming.

It’s hard to believe that there’s just one episode left of Succession; so let’s really soak it all in. Here’s this week’s best fan reactions to another week of hardcore drama.

There is just one episode left of Succession, ever

It was the day of Logan’s funeral

Poor old Connor didn’t get to say an eulogy

Then Ewan unexpectedly gave his own

Kendall, Roman and Shiv’s speeches didn’t half pack a punch

All of Logan’s WAGS sat in one pew

Logan’s old cronies were on form as usual

Of course, the predictions have been piling in

A lot of people have been backing Greg

Shiv fans think Shiv is still on unstable ground, despite a strong week

So will Kendall take the crown?

Succession is currently streaming on Sky and NOW
