As a self-confessed huge fan of the Bake Off franchise, Rachel Khoo – who’s previously graced our screens as co-host of Zumbo’s Just Desserts and a guest judge on My Kitchen Rules – admits the opportunity to join the cast was always going to be too good to refuse.
“I’ve seen every international version of there is, so I really know the brand and the format, and I love how it’s just so feel-good,” she enthuses. “There is competition there, but it’s in a nice way. I really was surprised how all the bakers would help each other. It was really lovely to have that kind of camaraderie, that team spirit almost. We all became a little family.
