Lengthened in Leith
I enjoyed the article on Pandoro (SM, Mar) and would like to add a small point of interest. When Buffalo was lengthened, Hall, Russell & Co may have had the contract. However, the ship was actually lengthened in the dry dock in Leith. The inserted module may have been fabricated in Aberdeen and brought to Leith, possibly even on St Magnus, although I am not certain, but the work itself was done in Leith.

Ellerman’s Cities
It was interesting to read another article (SM April 2023) about Ellerman’s business half a century ago in the shape of the Canada-India run as
