Walk through any major city or town in Australia and you can get a sense of the influence art has on our culture, with architecture being the most evident. Melbourne’s Government House for example is a beautiful landmark of Victorian Italianate design. Sydney’s Art Deco Grace Building is another example of an art movement, as is the modernist Sydney Opera House.
Art can also be frequently found in less predictable “hangs” like alleyways, shop fronts, on marketing in your letterbox, and online. This accessibility is most certainly a sign of our times and one of the most exciting developments the art world will experience.
