Halfway through the 2023 Hawaii Island Spring Turkey Hunt, the Three Amigos got their respective schedules aligned and set off on what has become an established annual turkey chase. The three old friends (some less charitable use the term ‘old geezers’) meet each year to renew relationships and maybe even snag a turkey or two. The geriatric trio is composed of junior member Marlin Dubetz (a mere 67), our senior advisor, guru, and mongoose trapper extraordinaire, Dick Peters (now 94), and the writer, markedly closer in age to Peters than Dubetz.
