Soma Bay and Abu Soma EGYPT

“Where should we go on vacation this time?” I think to myself. I want to go with my wife and child, be able to walk from bed to board, and want flip-flop weather, good wind and deep water for kite foiling. Caribbean water colors would be a bonus. Without further ado we decide – just like last year – to travel to Egypt for four weeks. We book accommodation for the first week only, keeping our options open for the remainder of the trip. Last year we spent four weeks exclusively in Soma Bay; this time we also want to explore the nearby spots around Abu Soma and Safaga.

The main season in this area is the European spring and summer, but with temperatures of 20 degrees Celsius or more all year round, it is a good option even in winter, when you’ll find it less
