A MORE than decent official weekend crowd of just over 70,000 turned out to see WorldSBK racing, even if the Mugello MotoGP round was going to unfold just one weekend later – and less than three hours drive away over the Apennine mountains. The Ducatisti at Misano included many MotoGP stars (Bagnaia and Bastianini for starters) but from the highest to the lowest they were treated to a Ducatifest almost of the proportions of the World Ducati Week.
All the subsequent success started early for the Ducati riders, with Alvaro Bautista (Aruba Racing Ducati) on pole at a record 1m33.017s pace, although not that far ahead of Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha Prometeon) in second.
