The loneliness EPIDEMIC

It’s safe to say that we’re getting lonelier. One in four adults in Australia now describe themselves as feeling lonely on a regular basis. What’s behind this increase?

“There are many causes of loneliness, including bereavement, relationship breakdown, experiencing discrimination or having a highly demanding caring role,” says UK psychologist Dr Meg Arroll. “Retiring, changing jobs or moving home can also cause us to feel disconnected.
