DEVINE INTERVENTION FOR EPIC DONEGAL SHOWDOWN VICTORY

An emotional Callum Devine allowed tears of joy to flow freely after he won the three-day Donegal International Rally, erasing the bitter disappointment of last year.

Not only did his victory tick the proverbial box, but it also promoted him into the lead of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship.

For 16 stages, he was embroiled in a tense struggle for supremacy with Josh Moffett but, in trying to reduce a 17.7s deficit, Moffett slid off on wet tar and broke the rear-right wheel of his Hyundai i20 R5.
