IRISH FERRIES

irst established in 1836 by a group of Dublin businessmen, British and Irish Line operated a fleet of paddle steamers from Dublin’s Eden Quay. However, it was not until 1982 that a new route from the Irish capital to Holyhead was proposed, when it was greeted by howls of protest from workers at the Anglesey port. B&I responded by using their first multi-purpose ferry, , dating from 1968,Irish base at Dun Laoghaire.
