The year 1987 would see major changes to the MB-trac range produced by Daimler-Benz. The second model in the six-cylinder middleweight range was launched in the shape of the 1100, which joined the original 1000 model that had been produced since 1982. This gave a two-model line-up in the lighter weight, more compact class of six-cylinder tractor up to 110hp, a sector of the market that was gaining in popularity in the late ’80s.
The heavyweight range was also given its first major update since 1980, with a new line-up featuring the use of a new engine across the new three-model range, the newcomers even gaining the 'turbo' name on the sides of the bonnet, as had been done with the smaller 900 model earlier.
