WITH well over 10,000 bird species currently described, it is not surprising that their diets cover just about every imaginable food source there is. Some birds can be highly specialised, but none could be more engaging than those birds which feed on snakes. (Venomous or otherwise.)

Bar a few exceptions the snake eagles being an example - birds are not strictly ophiophagous; that is, they feed exclusively snakes. Those species that will eat snakes often have varied diets and take snakes opportunistically.
