ur story on page 15 about Heather losing and finding her ring, reminded me how often I lose things. I’ve learned to be quite zen about it, otherwise I’d movie, I was wearing new clip-on earrings I’d bought in a sale. They weren’t super expensive. But they cost enough for me to think, as I took them off and popped them on my lap, that I forget to grab them when we leave. I enjoyed the movie but, I have to say, at two hours and 43 minutes, it’s loooong. So as soon as the credits began to roll, my husband Simon and I jumped up from our seats and headed out. Barely 10 minutes later, on the train home, my hand flew to my mouth and I gasped. ’What’s wrong?’ Simon asked. ‘My new earrings!’ I moaned. ‘I dropped them!’ There must have been hundreds of people in the cinema and I didn’t know the number of the row where we sat. But I wrote an email to the cinema complex. And wouldn’t you know it? The next morning, I got a call. Some kind person had found them and handed them in. Perhaps it was a cleaner or another patron. Like I said, people really are so kind.
