A RARE HISTORIC LOCOMOTIVE RETURNS TO THE CITY WHERE IT FIRST WORKED

n illustrated talk given by our Technical Editor, , just before last Christmas, to members and friends of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Railway Division, North Eastern Centre, on the topic has led to the remains of a 1912-built electric locomotive returning to the city. It’s now intended to restore it to working order and operate it as on the Derwent Valley Light Railway (DVLR) which is located on the site of the Yorkshire Farming Museum at Murton, just to the east of York.
