DENNIS TAKES WORLD TITLE

Jake Dennis finished Sunday’s rain-delayed second London E-Prix by unfurling a Union Flag he had secreted in his cockpit, but all the work had been 24 hours before.

That was when took runner-up place to forge an unassailable points lead and trigger wild celebrations in the Andretti pit led by owner Michael Andretti.

It meant that in just three years Dennis had gone from a bit-part GT3 driver to a fully fledged World champion in one of the great career turnarounds seen in recent years.
