Demystifying the Author Website

One of the biggest things writers hear about is the importance of building a platform. Generally, this has been translated as “grow a big social media following.” While “writer lifts” and “follow trains” seem like an easy way to build a platform, it’s not enough. First, inflating follower counts with people who likely aren’t interested in buying your books doesn’t do you any favors.
