Often called lilly pilly here, Syzygium is a genus of around 1200 species, some of which grow solely on our continent, others across Africa and Southeast Asia; still others occur both here and further afield.
All species have something to offer the home gardener, no matter the style of the garden or individual preference.
Generally, most fall into the category of rainforest shrub or tree but they vary greatly in habit, size and fruit type.
There are also several similarities between the species: cultural requirements, those tell-tale myrtaceous stamen-type blossoms and
