TWEAKING AND TESTING

IF YOU’VE FOLLOWED ALONG this far and your upgraded machine now boots Linux, connects to the internet, and doesn’t crash, then bravo! You are doing better than us. If, on the other hand, something is not working as expected, you’ll want to dig deeper with some diagnostics. Common sore points include (but are not limited to) audio, graphical stutter, disk space running out (this can happen very quickly if you try to squeeze Mint into a small space), and media not playing. Laptops have their own peculiarities, so make sure that your laptop’s hotkeys (in particular brightness controls), Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi are all working as expected.
