GROWING FIRST-TIME PLOTTING

We viewed our current plot in the summer of 2018. It had been empty for some time and a well-meaning neighbour had sprayed the lot with weedkiller to keep it ‘under control’. Our previous allotment, although only a quarter of the size, had been nurtured for many years – the soil rich and teeming with life – and now we were faced with a large patch of parched earth. But we fell in love.
